Renowned ballet company, Rambert, staged a series of events at its new rehearsal space on London’s South Bank. The music was composed and performed by Radiohead’s drummer, Philip Selway, accompanied by multi-instrumentalists Adem Ilhan and Quinta. The musicians performed in two different dance studios and constantly moved locations.
Engineer and sound designer, Gavin McComb, selected ME-1 personal mixers to provide hands-on foldback and interactive source mixing between locations. A compact iLive digital mixing system, comprising an iLive-R72 surface and an iDR-32 MixRack formed the central control, and a ME-U hub with Dante was patched to the performance areas using the building’s CAT5 networks. Gavin and Rambert’s Sound Engineer, Jonathan Clarence, were able to unobtrusively make adjustments in the performance areas using laptop control via iLive Editor and iPad control with iLive MixPad.
