An exclusive event for Red Bull Sound Select members, the recent ‘3 Days in Miami’ featured a weekend of live music and events in downtown Miami at The Hangar, celebrating the city and the best in new music. The artist development program allows members to discover new artists before they break, track trends and support their local music scene. To pump up the show visuals, Zenith Lighting provided High End Systems SHAPESHIFTER C1 fixtures for A$ap Ferg, Cashmere Cat, Alunageorge and other performers.

Zenith’s Jose A. Rodriguez served as lighting designer and programmer with tech support from Ixsunn Ramirez. Jose says that The Hangar is a great venue, but admittedly, the load in was a bit of a challenge. “It’s a more intimate room, and we had to load in through the front door of the venue rather than through a dedicated loading dock or stage door.”

Rodriguez used ten SHAPESHIFTERs, placed behind the DJ booth - upstage center, with a pair hung downstage on the house pipe rig. Following the performance he gave high marks to the performance of the C1’s. “After this show I am a firm believer in these lights - the intensity and the choice of effects are amazing!”

Zenith’s client shared Jose’s enthusiasm for the rig. “Every night after the show, all of the Red Bull reps would come up and thank me for an amazing show, and they would always be very complimentary on my use of the lights, and how cool it was that I was able to use the same equipment in the same configuration, but it looked different every night. What made this possible was the SHAPESHIFTERs.”
