Anya™, the mainstay of EAW’s Adaptive Performance™ Series, received the Indispensable Technology (IT) Award for Audio at the recent Parnelli Awards in Las Vegas.
The awards were created in 2002 by Timeless Communications (publishers of FOH and PLSN magazines) to recognize excellence in the people, companies and products in the event production industry. In 2009 the awards were expanded to include the Indispensable Technology awards, added to honor groundbreaking new products in the fields of audio, lighting, video and staging.
“Anya combines an array of breakthrough technologies to deliver breathtaking acoustics and an unprecedented level of control,” explains Jeff Rocha, EAW President. “Adaptive systems provide software based three-dimensional control of the system polar response. Production teams can perfectly match the coverage of the system to the audience in minutes, minimizing the impact of room acoustics and eliminating the environmental impact on neighbors. And that’s just scratching the capability surface. We believe that Adaptive Technology will profoundly change the world of sound reinforcement. Winning this award demonstrates that the industry reinforces this belief.”
Parnelli Award nominations and winners are chosen in a peer-to-peer process, from the readership of PLSN and FRONT of HOUSE magazines. Hundreds of industry luminaries gathered at the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas for the 2014 Parnelli's.
Nominees in the Audio Indispensable Technology award category were Eastern Acoustic Works' Anya, L-Acoustics' K2, Meyer Sound's LYON, Rational Acoustics' Smaart 7.5, and Yamaha's QL Console Series.
