Allen&Heath; iLive and Me system Manage 'Collision Chongqing' Concert

Chongqing-Hong Kong Musical Exchange 2014 - 'Collision Chongqing' Concert was performed in Chongqing Grand Theatre on October 30th and October 31st respectively. The 'collision' series of concerts have been held in Taipei and Hong Kong, and this performance in Chongqing was its debut in the mainland.

Allen & Heath digital mixing systems and personal monitor system were opted for managing the sound reinforcement system of the 'Collision Chongqing’ concert, which including two iLive digital mixing systems and six ME personal mixers managing monitors and Dante for recording.

FOH engineer employed an iLive-T112 and iDR-48 to manage FOH, with iLive MixPad app in iPad for remote control at different audience area.

Monitor engineer used an iLive-T112 and iDR-48 to control the monitor system. An iLive-T112 connected with iDR-48 via CAT 5. Six ME-1 personal mixers were placed at different performing areas for the bands to manage their own monitor feeds, networked via the M-U hub.

In the concert, Chongqing Baying Men’s Chorus lit up the audience with passionate boat songs featuring Bayu characteristics. The concert was performed jointly by HKCO4U (consisting of young concert performers from Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra) and SIU2 (a Hong Kong cutting-edge band). The performers played with various traditional instruments such as the huqin, ruan (a plucked stringed instrument) and piano to present a 'collision' of music, an integration of Chinese and western music both in ancient and modern times.

The FOH engineer concluded:  “I have used Allen & Heath digital mixing system for lots of shows before. iLive is very straight forward to set up and ease of use, and it features high flexibility and excellent reliability. In addition, the sound quality of the system is second to none. These are the reasons why I select it for this event.””
