High End Systems SHAPESHIFTERs Hold Court In Hard Rock Center Bar
The 2014 LDI show in Las Vegas was once again a hotbed of lighting luminaries and technology; this year automated lighting manufacturer High End Systems and the Hard Rock Casino brought something extra to the party with 32 SHAPESHIFTER C2 fixtures installed in the iconic Center Bar at the casino. The lighting industry and other revelers were treated to a stunning display of SHAPESHIFTER's capabilities on the dome, with the C2's proving they are just as outstanding as their big brother the C1.  In addition to the illumination and effects capabilities of the fixture, SHAPESHIFTERs are remarkably energy efficient. Power draw for a C2 SHAPESHIFTER is just three amps at 120 volts AC, making it possible to put five units on one 20 amp circuit! Each C2 fixture outputs 12,000 RGB lumens and is comprised of 63 Cree 3 Watt LEDs (21 Red, 21 Blue and 21 Green).  High End Systems' US/Latin America Sales Manager Adam Camp commented, "We are extremely pleased that this installation could take place prior to the LDI show, where so many professionals in our industry were able to see the SHAPESHIFTERs in action, with 32 C2's acting as 224 different fixtures! When you see the light painting on the dome - the vertical light streaks that go from just above the fixture to the top of the dome - it is important to note that no other fixture could accomplish this task. The vertical light streaks on the dome are actually six of the movable

An ordinary fixture with a 12 degree or similar beam angle could only project part way up the dome because of the curvature of the structure."   The original installation used 40 Vari*lite VL5 fixtures with 1000 Watt Halogen sources. There were 40 units at 1000 watts or 40,000 watts. The 32 C2 units at 360 watts each use a total of 11,500 watts! Also, the average lamp life of the VL5 1000W Halogen source was 150 hours, while the life of the C2 LEDs is over 15,000 hours. https://www2.highend.com/news_events/news/news_detail.asp?news_id=755
